100 hours of meditaton training

This training is 100 Hour Yoga Alliance approved Continuing Education Program (CEP) training involving theory, practice, teaching training, practicum and silence modules. This course is primarily aimed at facilitating inward journey of the participant and making them an able facilitator of meditation. It starts with an honest self-inquiry and recognition of the participant’s current state of mind and life. Later, through practice, lectures, relaxation, thought experiments, group exercises, inquiries, chanting and silence, the inward journey of attention will ensue. Through a gradual, structured process, the participant will be able to effortlessly open their own awareness to their inner-potential. Having experienced the process themselves, the participants will be able to confidently facilitate meditation among others with compassion and consideration.

The course design aligns with the Yoga Alliance suggested Educational categories like Techniques, Training & Practice (TTP), Teaching Methodology (TM), Anatomy & Physiology (AP), Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle & Ethics (YPLE) totalling to 100 Contact Hours. Between the above Educational categories the following content will be administered,

– Spiritual philosophy of Yogic meditation. (Sources: Bhagavad Gita & Upanishad)
– Understanding the mind – Yogic psychology, (Yoga Sutra, Upanishad & Bhagavad Gita)
– Four step process of meditation (dhyana). (Sources: Yoga Sutra & Gita)
– Scientific basis of meditative process. Meditative process as a healing method.
– Managing stress and cultivating relaxation – its physiological basis and psychological impact.
– Study of Anatomy and Bio-mechanics of meditative asanas.
– Asana & Pranayama practice focused on preparing the body for sustained sitting.
– Working of Prana and its impact on mind. (Sources: Hatha Yoga & Ayurveda)
– Elaborate inquiry into Abhyasa (sustained practice) & Vairagya (discerned withdrawal).
– Methods of turning mind inward. (Sources: Hatha Yoga, Yoga Sutra and Gita)
– Cultivating Meditative attitude in daily life through Karma and Bhakti ideals. (Source: Gita)
– Practicing different types of Meditations from the Bhakti, Tantra and Yoga schools.
– Chanting and Mantra as methods of meditation.
– Learning to be with yourself. four days of silence (Mauna) as a part of the course.
– Teaching how to meditate and guiding a journey of inward awareness.
– Basic counselling and how to be a support system for your student’s transformation.
– Difficulties in Meditation and importance of self-practice (sadhana)
– Lifestyle management and habit cultivation for meditative life.
