“For many years I have suffered from an inferiority complex about my dance. During Prasad’s workshop, my soul opened up. And for the first time in my life my body was dancing with so much that I wept with joy. I could not understand what was happening to me. I finally felt freedom in dance – “It’s wonderful!” – because I thought before that I could never dance.

I had never practised yoga before that. It was a new and unexpected experience for my body. My chest filled up with oxygen, became free and I was breathing easily. Now I practise exercises and feel more energy and high spirits. I have been getting lighter and more flexible.

During meditaton on the river Teacher (Master) asked us, “What have you comprehended from workshop about yourself? What is your motto?” The answer that came to me was, “Trusting myself, turning inwards deeply – diving into myself!” I could feel the river, its stream, it seemed to me that the river penetrated through me. Now I feel that my womanhood will also blossom. I want to feel myself like a woman – I want to love and be loved.

After the trip to India, I have got internal tranquillity, peace of mind and self-trust. I discovered Love. I am happy. I am grateful to Prasad, love him like my Teacher (Master) and wish to keep going on up this path.”

Mind-Body Transformation Through Yoga (March 2011)

“This is the fifth time I have joined his workshop. I started my spiritual journey in 2006 and the first workshop that I joined was Prasad’s Yoga Workshop.

But each time that I came close to him, I would feel annoyed and disturbed emotionally by his presence. It seemed as though he could cut through the layers of my mind and go directly to my essence. He helped me face my fears every time, which was a painful process at that moment. I promised myself each time, “Okay, it’s the last one, no more of this, he does not understand my sufferings or story.” However, after a while, I could sense that I am a little bit lighter than before, and I came back again each time for being disturbed, i.e. facing what I have been covering up.

For me, the spiritual journey is a process of discovering the true self or the truth. On the way, you have to come face to face with those emotions or fears that you have hidden for a long, long time. This process is very painful, but yet meaningful. And it is also a process to learn how to love yourself and embrace yourself, whoever you are. Self love and acceptance is the key. If you can’t face the mud that covers the goldstone, how can you find the gold underneath? And the truth is, you are the gold.”

“Prasad’s yoga workshops helped our actors cultivate a heightened awareness of their bodies and physical abilities. His techniques also helped to focus them toward the character work. By integrating the mind and body Prasad and his yoga classes opened up the actors to both physical and mental work. Prasad is a wonderful teacher and yoga practitioner and we are so fortunate to be able to work with him.”

Prasad made yoga fun yet challenging for our physical education students at the American School of Bombay. His communication was age level appropriate (11 – 16 year olds) enabling him to quickly establish a good rapport with our students. His expertise was evident as he blended the health related components of fitness with yoga and made excellent anatomical and physiological connections. Prasad made yoga meaningful to our students by explaining the benefits to their total health and making clear connections to their lives; enhances academic and sport performance, reduces stress, and improves mental, emotional and physical health. Prasad’s ability to challenge their mental boundaries in order for our students to achieve substantial physical improvement within such a short time frame (only 3 days) was amazing.

Thanks to Prasad’s help, we are incorporating yoga on a regular basis into our Physical and Health Education classes and we are excited that he has agreed to return on a yearly basis to our classes.

I have had the chance to join the retreat in Thailand last week with Prasad. I am practicing Yoga now for 8 years, I met different teachers from all over the world, participated in numerous workshops and retreats as well. A lot of teachers have strong knowledge about body structures and scriptures. But most of them do not have this ability to communicate their true love for Yoga, the true meaning of yoga and spirituality.

To me, some of the great teachers appear to be surgeons who look at you as a disease not a human being. But not Prasad. He is not a fashion Guru Man who only wants to be ‘in’. His focus is on the meaning of Yoga – “It is the steady movement of the individual soul towards the Supreme Soul. Yoga is a steady ascent to the Divine”.

Besides the basic postures, with Prasad you can explore your divine essence, your true love towards yourself. You learn to let go. I enjoyed those 3 days so much – to reconnect with myself, his words were mine, he touched me with his words, his way of teaching, his patience, his true love for each student. As for myself, because of him I am confident with Pranayama I gained understanding.

To have a class with Prasad is exploring behind the Asana, whether you are already a teacher, a yogi or a newcomer. You cannot stay without receiving any self transformation after meeting him. This man is not only gifted but he really loves human beings! Thanks a lot Prasad. I hope to see you again and have the opportunity to join other workshops.

“I first started learning Yoga from Prasad 4 years ago in Mumbai. I had never done yoga in my life before that. Prasad makes you feel so confident and secure in yourself that one wants to try harder and harder. One is never left feeling that I cannot do this posture or that one. After I moved to Singapore one and a half years ago, I organized a yoga workshop for him in March 2009. It was a small group (as I did not know many people then) but all the people were very, very happy after the workshop. They all came away feeling very positive.
In February 2010, I organized another workshop for him here in Singapore. Needless to say, all the participants from the workshop last year attended again and we had so many new people as well that we ended up doing 3 different full day workshops. He is a wonderful, humorous and kind human being and a GREAT teacher. For one so young, he is very knowledgeable. So A BIG THANK YOU from SINGAPORE. We eagerly await the next workshop.”

“Prasad returned to Hong kong after 2 years with his Self-Transformation workshop. Prasad knows how to keep things simple and lets us experience things rather than just gain a theoretical knowledge, and we all feel deep gratitude for this. Prasad’s transformation power can help you throughout the whole life time. Since I am under his guidance for years, I have a deep trust in him, and the connection is strong.
Before this Self-Transformation workshop, I came across some issues as everybody else does. My Inner growth had somehow stopped, even my body had responded hormonally as I had no period for months. But 2 weeks before Prasad came to Hong Kong, I got a severe cold, which is very rare for me, and my period came. These were the signs of purification for me. Then the night after he left Hongkong, the pure vibrations were still around me, I had a vigorous dream about my deep issue. I used what he taught to cope with the deep issue. My heart is now relieved a lot. And I feel balanced. Certainly we participants are the most fortunate people.”

“I had the opportunity to be part of “transformation trough yoga” weekend in Brussels with Prasad. Although I practice yoga since many years, those two days were a different experience for me. Prasad is teaching more than just yoga, his work goes beyond the asanas, goes deeper, it’s a life style. I was truly touched by his teaching, and so happy I could be part of this wonderful practice. I’m deeply grateful to Prasad.”

He got us very interested in the wisdom of Yoga, and got us highly motivated to continue doing Yoga, so that we can use Yoga in our work and science, which includes important problems dealing with climate and global warming.

“Prasad’s ‘hip opening’ workshop in Bangkok was a beautiful balance for the mind, body and spirit. Prasad is an excellent teacher. For the intellect, he delivered a comprehensive lecture on the hip joint and its importance. He worked our bodies with the hip opening asanas. As a spiritual mentor Prasad connects with his students of all ages, abilities, nationalities and spiritual awareness. What an enlightening, joyful and healthy experience attending his workshop! The best gift I could give my stressed seniors for graduation before they go off to university would be a weekend workshop with Prasad and a CD of the practice of Yoga Nidra.”

“A newcomer to the world of Yoga, I was a little apprehensive when asked to join the retreat. Not knowing what to expect and having no idea what the retreat would entail, I agreed mainly because of wanting to get to know better my newly found girlfriends, whom at this stage I was becoming very fond of. That and of course a degree of curiosity.

I am not sure if mere words can describe the experiences and discoveries made during the Retreat. There were 5 of us, and I believe that each and every single one us connected to Prasad personally. The most wonderful guidance, we unlocked and let go of the past, we embrace the now. A lesson of ‘Detachment’, we let go of our emotions such as anger and hatred, we learned forgiveness and Love. Love towards others and most important Love towards ourselves, to learn how to receive as much as we give.

I came as a guarded person with walls protecting me, a heavy baggage and allowing only certain few to view the innermost vulnerable me. I left with crumbling walls, although not completely gone, pieces are going down all the time. Prasad you showed the way on how to forgive not only other people but to forgive myself. I came away with not new found friends, but four sisters of the heart. I left a better person, a person who has love, courage and spirituality.

As I write this, tears are flowing, these are not tears of sadness, but of all emotions in me and the realisation of how much you have done for me. How does one thank and show gratitude you, Prasad?”

“In one of my first contacts with yoga, I participated in a stress management seminar with Prasad, which was an enriching and inspiring experience. With his unique approach to yoga, mixing gentleness, sense of humour and clarity of explanations, Prasad provided us with the ‘tools’ and directions to effectively improve stress management through yoga. No doubt, this seminar was a success, and we were grateful for Prasad showing us the way!”

“Yoga with its practices is a truly wonderful system for inner exploration and personal evolution. The participants invested 2 days to dive deep inside the Yoga techniques to know what they really are capable of! They let the Balancing Power of Yoga free themselves from all pressures of a normal hectic life.
Each day was full of activities that challenged beginners and advanced students alike. A correct mix of Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra, silence, meditations, discussions and much more. All levels of students participated.
The feedback received was that the participants gave themselves the chance of experiencing yoga, not as a class, but as a way of life where the orientation was to seek joy in whatever they did and thus establish a strong conviction in the divinity dwelling within them.”

Talks on Bhakti Yoga – Bhagvad Gita – Mumbai, Summer 2006
“Prasad was gracious enough to conduct Bhagvad Gita lessons for some of us, who have been learning Yoga from him for a while. His simple yet powerful elaborations, had us all looking forward to the next Sunday class, where he gave us a deeper perspective into this ancient story that has come to be revered by so many all over the world. In the classes, I saw in Prasad a yogi who truly lives his essence. His wisdom and knowledge of the Upanishads and ancient texts, made him competent to support his explanations and convinced us of the spiritual destiny that we all come into this world with. And he never for once, made us feel inadequate, on the contrary, I always felt empowered, ready to face the battle of life. Prasad asked all the difficult questions that we frequently hide from, urging us to live our ‘complete self’ by looking deeper and what I discovered was that, the only battle that we are meant to fight, is the one that lies within.”
“People get ready! Your search for Inner comfort and joy can begin. Away from those heaving self help bookshelves, out of the doors of those sweltering ego popping studios, into the gentle company and language of the mind, body and soul of Prasad Rangnekar.
There are many that dedicate their lives to ‘ Healing ‘ and service but so few who instill equality and self acceptance as naturally as this. With my psyche drenched in London loudness I escaped to the mountains of Andalucia on a mini budget. By a chance introduction to his class I began the Yoga journey busy minds dream of. Whatever your state creatively, mentaly or beliefs spiritualy, experiance this blessing before you have to pull his book and cds out from amongst the Deepak Chopras et al. Bliss. Many thanks to his hosts too for letting me wonder in to their beautiful home.”
- Rachel Mayfield Singer/Writer – Participant ‘inner awreness’ week – Malaga Spain

Yoga workshop – Paris, Summer 2005
“In June 2005 while visiting Paris Prasad Rangnekar gave a Yoga workshop to the LYNX Theatre in English as a Second Language group. It was opened to interested friends and there were 12 participants of varying ages and with varied experience of physical work and a variety of physical aches and pains; Nobody was very experienced in yoga. First of all Prasad spoke and asked about peoples aches and pains then he led us through a series of twelve basic exercises explaining that each person was to act in respect to their own particular limits with the accent continually on breathing.
The participants were very happy and found the movements and postures beneficial and that they touched on basic essentials.
After the session Prasad drew all the exercise on a sheet of paper and a photocopy was given to each person so that we could remember the sequence easily for future use. The follow up is, of course, to continue and I know that a number of us are doing yoga postures regularly.”

-

Joanna Bartholomew – Organizer – Paris workshop

The Rocket Festival – Spain, Summer 2005
Three days of music , fun , energy and yoga in the scenic mountains ranges of south of spain was good enough to life up everyone’s spirits for the rest of the year. In the vastness of the festival we had conceptualized the “healing zone” where people could come to relax , energize and get healed.
The work started from scratch right from making the Yoga platform to setting up the tents and making cubicles for the therapy areas. Thanks to Jackee and her unsurpassed energy levels all this was managed wonderfully.
We had about 10 therapists from across the world who offered variety of therapies from Hot stone massage to Taichi to Bach Flower Therapy. Every Morning and in the evenings with the bright Sun for company we used to practice yoga. The enchanting setting of the mountains and the innocent greens was ideal to focus and derive stability through Yoga.
Over 3 days yoga was introduced to many new people who had just heared of it but had never tried it. Extended question answer and therapy sessions after the class were affective in reinstigating the usage and practicality of yoga. As a teacher it gave me immense pleasure to interact and spread the message of yoga to such a large and diverse audience. Most of them are still in touch and have been practicing Yoga in whatever way they can. They have started deriving benefits out of their practice according to their feedback.

Yoga Across India, Summer 2005
This experience for me was the best demonstration of the Tree of Yoga flowering and giving its shade to all who come under her. I started teaching Yoga at Procter and Gamble office last year in the month of October. Their dedication and enthusiasm resulted in many benefits across the physical ,mental and emotional levels.

So much was the impact of yoga that the Health team at P&G suggested that I conduct seminars on Yoga for the Sales Managers across India. This was executed in January during the Annual Sales meet. Over a period of time this group of participants also realized the benefits of Yoga. So powerful was the impact of Yoga lifestyle on them that they wanted yoga to reach across India to all their retailers.
We Planned to conduct Yoga seminars across India over 25 locations.

My team included my friends and yoga teachers Mr. Ajit Kamath, Swami Ananda, Amol and Aumrita Sodhi. Together we went across India to more than 25 locations reaching more than 1000 people across all sections of society.

For all of us it was a fulfilling experience and we really felt contributing towards the “sangha”, getting together people under the Tree of Yoga.
The next step is to reach out to the family members of the retailers we reached out to …this is how the Tree of Yoga will grow and flower in form of peace of mind and contentment.

Yoga Seminars – London, Winter 2005
“The activities around yoga, the postures or the guided meditations, were explained in detail, as the roots, the goals, the effects and results. The times I found important here were the ones of speech and exchanges in the group. Often Prasad would ask how or what people had felt during an experience.
Many of the participants felt open, confidant and not judged. Many words were parted with in that room, and listened to with respect. This also permitted the people to feel free to read their texts, play their instruments, be themselves and dance until late on Dj Kimi’s music!”
- Gala Besson – Participant from Paris at the Yoga event Organized by ‘Magik for no reason’
Yoga Seminars – Abu Dhabi, Winter 2005
“Thank you very much, we had wonderful evenings when we were with you especially me, I just forgot everything listening to your words I want to get more guidelines from you to improve my concentration. Eager to see you at the earliest. “
- Mr. Narayanan – Participant at the Abu Dhabi Yoga seminar

“Only the enthusiastic youngsters like you can take the Indian heritage to greater heights and keep it away from another copyright invasion!! I am sure with your passion for Yoga, you will certainly make it big in the days to come.”
Mr.B.R.Shetty – MD & CEO NMC – Abu Dhabi

Children’s Yoga at American School of Bombay, Winter 2005
“Most importantly, the students developed an appreciation for yoga…for the calming, peaceful, stretching, strengthening and athletic qualities of it. Many ‘uncontrollable students’ thrived in yoga and were able to focus. Several students are practicing yoga at home and have inspired their parents to take it up. Students also have chosen to continue our yoga lessons throughout the school year.”

Surya Prakasha Yoga Week – Spain, Summer 2004
“Surya Prakasha” Yoga week at Casa Major was a dynamic outdoor experience in which the participants learned a powerful collection of holistic yoga techniques to help increase their strength, optimism, energy, and personal power.
It opened the door to emotional, physical, and spiritual truth and the participants walked away with a desire to get closer to their inner selves and with immense sense of positivism and motivation.
The workshop included lectures and demonstrations in the theory and practice of a broad range of teachings and techniques of classical yoga. Special emphasis was given to deepening the practice of meditation and contemplation.

Stress Management – Spain, Summer 2004
The Medico Resort is a part of Kempinski Resort Hotel on the Costa del Sol, the “sunny coast” of Andalusia on some 45,000 square meters of gardens with a panoramic sea view. The participants went through a specially designed yoga series with emphasis on opening up, increasing lung capacity and rebalancing the energy. Afternoons were reserved for an hour of Yoga Nidra practice and lecture followed by an hour of meditation, chanting and question answer sessions in the evening.

Yoganidra, Summer 2004
This mystical 200 year old Barn House in Nexenhoff was the place for the “yoga Nidra” workshop.
Yoga Nidra is wonderful technique, not only for physical or mental relaxation but also for preparing the mind for spiritual discipline. It is a ’semi sleep state’ where all the burdens are thrown off to attain more blissful state of awareness. It is a state of relaxation much more intense than ordinary sleep.
The participants got an insight into their subconscious and used this technique as a method of improving themselves by commanding the subconscious. Introductory Yoga class, silent walks in the lush green fields, lectures, meditation techniques, debates and question answer sessions were a part of the workshop.

Personal Change – Spain, Winter 2004
“It was during the last week of summer sunshine when Prasad blessed us and my house with his weekend workshop. Beginners to yoga, long term students, and intermediates alike .We were all glued to his every word! We all got exactly what we needed and the whole weekend flowed delightfully. All our personalities seemed to blend with the influence of the yogic principles.
Prasad expounded to us, we walked, in the mountains and by the sea in peaceful meditation guided always by Prasad’s creative and heart warming way. Thank you Prasad.”
- Ruth Fellner – Yoga Teacher and Participant

Meditation Workshop Germany, Winter 2004
“Prasad kindly came here all the way from Mumbai, India in November 2004 to give us workshops on Asanas (yogic postures) Pranayama (Breathing Techniques) and Meditation. He brought us a bit of the spirit of India and each two-hour workshop was a great success! The participants learned a lot and were really impressed by Prasad’s tranquil demeanor and positive energy.
Prasad also gave some of the Dayananda Yoga Studio students Ayurvedic massages. We were very happy to have hosted him and can hardly wait for him to come back here to The Dayananda Yoga Studio!

”
