Equal Vision & Vedantic Teachings – A thought
As we struggle through the vagaries of modern age I can’t help but wonder where the humanity went wrong.
As a bomb brings down a sky scraper, as a landmine maims a child, as a youth explodes himself for his “religion” and as millions die of starvation every year I am affirmed that some thing went wrong some where in our evolution as a society. The distribution of population on basis of religion, color, geography and monitory capability has reached its helm.
Panchaklesha – Afflictions

- Patanjali Yoga Sutra ch 2 verse 3
Imagine if we had a list of variables that cause us suffering wouldn’t it be good to just work on each of these obstacles and get rid of them to make our lives smooth flow?
Patanjali in his yoga sutra gives us a list of such causes that can be worked upon. Once the aspirant gets rid of the causes of suffering he/she starts identifying with the “atman”-The self. This self is pure and infinite, it is love, existence and knowledge in itself. Once the aspirant knows the Self nothing else is desired.
Yoga – Beyond the Mat
Yoga rightly called as the “Sanatana”- eternal has come a long way. Ever along its journey the substance of Yoga has been well preserved and fortified by the experiences of the Rishis, mystics and sadhaks (students). We are seeing a revival of Yoga in today’s age. Millions of us are taking up “yoga”. Yoga is in the magazines, on T.V, in Hollywood and everywhere it can possibly be. But is it really penetrating “Inside” us? We “do” Yoga but do we really “practice” it?
Oneness
Dear Friends,
I arrived a couple of weeks back from a 10 week long tour across 8 countries sharing the beautiful science of Yoga. The more I travel and meet people the more I realize how similar we are deep within, even though we may be poles apart superficially on variables of color, language, culture etc.
Centering in Yoga
Dear friends,
I hope you all are fine and doing very well with your life. Life! Isn’t it exciting? One of the reasons I love life is because of the excitement of new challenges it brings. With confidence and centering we all can face these challenges easily. “Centering” in yoga is the search for balance between the two polarities of our human life, the outgoing, extrovert, active side and the ingoing, introvert, receptive side. With most of us we manifest one predominant personality. For instance, one person is more of an outgoing personality, while another one is quieter. The centering methods mentioned in ancient yoga scriptures help us in balancing our personality thus balancing all variables of our life in turn.
